TROUBLESHOOTING
There are many options to this model, this chart is for the generic version. If

The following chart shows some troubleshooting activities an operator or maintenance person can easily accomplish.
Troubleshooting activities that go beyond the scope of those listed below are to be undertaken with input from
Kinematic Automation Service Personnel.

Machine does not turn on Check EPO Button

Be sure the cut module is installed correctly
Machine is too noisy Check stripper clearance
Check cut modules for adhesive build-up
Check gears and bushings for proper lubrication
Check gear meshing
Check for loose cut module
Marks are found on strips Adjust strippers
Clean cut modules
Clean infeed platen
Clean strippers

 

 

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE  - Assumes you have preformed this maintenance before and are familiar with this machine.

  • The Matrix 2501 Rotary Slitting Module was designed and constructed to minimize maintenance requirements.

  • The preventative maintenance schedule for the Matrix 2501 Rotary Slitting Module can be seen at a glance in the following tables.

  • The scheduling is to be used solely as a guideline. 

  • Actual required maintenance frequencies depend heavily upon product parameters and use of the machine.

Exterior Surfaces Cleaning Painted and plastic surfaces should be cleaned with a mild cleaning solution

CAUTION: Never spill any solvent on the plastic cover.

Tooling Module Blades & Strippers

Cleaning

Remove Tooling Module, clean (glue, dust and debris) from blade face.  Recommended solvents are denatured alcohol, Acetone or MEK.  Experimentation with several may be required to find the appropriate cleaner for your product’s attributes.

Remove strippers (using screws shown on page 19, picture 7) and clean glue with solvent.

Entire blade set can be ultrasonically cleaned (add some solvent to water in tank to dissolve glues)

Tooling Module Zerk Fittings Cleaning & Greasing While Tooling Module is removed, clean and re-grease bearings with STA-LUBE MOLY-GRAPH MULTIPURPOSE GREASE

Tooling Module Gear Box

Check for oil leaks

Refilling oil (STP) is only required if there has been a leak in the casing.Contact Leeson for help.
