2210 Troubleshooting Chart
TROUBLESHOOTING
The following chart shows some activities an
operator or maintenance person can easily accomplish.
Troubleshooting activities which go beyond the scope of those listed below are
to be undertaken solely with input from
Kinematic Automation Service Personnel.

Main platen fails
to hold card firmly when vacuum is turned on. |
Additional vacuum
slots beyond card footprint are turned On.
Card material not flat or debris between card and platen.
Vacuum slotting/slot is dirty or plugged.
Main air is turned Off. |

Pivot platen fails
to hold material during lamination. |
Vacuum slots
beyond footprint of material are On, causing leakage.
Platen vacuum slots are dirty or plugged.
Material is too porous for vacuum retention.
Main air is turned Off.
Pivot platen valve switch not On. |

Tracks are not
aligned in proper relationship to each other on card. |
Incorrect track
alignment key installed.
Incorrect material used in lamination sequence.
Incorrect track location selected during processing. |

Main platen does
not stay in desired position. |
Track lock valve is toggled to Off position.
Air supply valve switch not On. |

parameters and use of the machine.

down top surfaces with a lint-free cloth, lightly dampened with denatured
alcohol

low-flow vacuum cleaner, vacuum all dust and debris from both platens |

Check Vacuum and
Air Lines, clean and clear as required |
1) Remove
bottom cover; verify that vacuum lines are free from debris.
2) Unplug
and clear any lines containing foreign matter. |

Kinematic - send machine to factory for cleaning |
Other than this simple
maintenance, no other periodic service is required.
